Changes to Florida Milsim Team Requirements
| Written By Shawn Perkins Tuesday, 03 August 2010 |
As Florida Milsim approaches its 2 year mark, I am very excited to announce some great changes. 2 years after its inception we could have never planed on the good fortune that we had. We have met wonderful people, been given the opportunity to have events at our private AO, and have found a very enthusiastic airsoft field for public events. All of the hard work that the Staff and members have put in are obviously paying off. We started off with an idea that was very unique and there was no model to base our actions on, and wound up with a very solid foundation and a core set of realism based Military simulation rules.
First announcement is we have recently named an OPFOR Director, Donnie Hart. He is working hard on making sure OPFOR is presented as a realistic force and that the challenges and situations breathe the heat of realistic pressure. We have partnered with some very reputable and fun guys that know how to bring the heat when required and are always looking for more.
One of our major changes are now that have the kinks worked out of our system, we feel that that it is time to expand our SOP on team eligibility to include Specialized Role Groups. Potential teams are still expected to abide by the SOP, but now there is a much wider range of forces.
Next, we will be hosting our events at both, our private AO and Combat City USA, which is a public field. This will give us a great change of scenery, allow others to see what we do and mix with the airsoft community.
The Final announcement I am happy to bring is that we are now implementing a rank structure across the board for teams. We have utilized this same rank structure for the 23rd with great success, and now it is part of the FM SOP. This structure will take the guess work out of team ranks, it will be a ground work for all of our events and guarantee cross team compatibility. If a person decides he is going to move from one team to another, and meets that other teams minimum standards, he should be able to keep his rank (roles and billets are at teams discretion)
Thank you for being a part of Florida Milsim, I look forward to seeing you at our operations in the future.

Tours and Members
We have 3 basic roles for visitors. Those are Guests, Touring Members and Approved Members. Guests simply said, are people who have not created an account, and therefore get a very limited view of Florida Milsim. Touring Members and Approved Members are described below. Every so often we have a period of open tours. During this period our site is open as a tour to members who have registered an account, but not been active in the community, this way they can decide if our view of Milsim is for them. If it they are interested and are show they are a part of the community they become an Approved Member. If they are not interested, there is no harm done, they simply keep their account in tour status and are only able to see the majority of the site during times when we open up to tours. If you have been on a tour with us and are interested in joining, simply introduce yourself in the Initial Entry Orientation http://www.floridamilsim.com/index.php?option=com_agora&task=forum&id=19&Itemid=60 forum and show you want to be part of our community. If you have not been on tour in the past that is also fine, just stop by the IEO forum and introduce yourself and familiarize yourself with Florida Milsim and from there you will become an approved member. Enjoy your visit and don't be shy. Welcome to Florida Milsim
Welcome to Florida Milsim, A Military Simulation community. FM is an organization which is dedicated to the hobby of milsim. It is a community which requires all members who participate in our events to be registered and understand the rules of our events and safety. This is not a casual airsoft experience, tactics training course, or a place for "hard core spec-ops elite" catalog commandos. What you will find here is a group of people from many experiences and walks of life, who have come together with a common interest which is to make every attempt at replicating real world military and paramilitary units for the enjoyment of pushing our limits both mentally and physically. We have enthusiasts with many different interests and one thing in common - using the equipment and tactics used by the particular group they are emulating. With this all answered, our events incorporate these question into a staged event, that is by design very reminiscent of true FTX (though usually on a much shorter term).

The New Florida Milsim!
Welcome to the new and improved Florida Milsim website. I am very excited to bring this new face of FM to you. In our first year of operation we have grown a lot more than we expected. When I first started Florida Milsim I had no doubt that it would become a success, but I had no idea that it would mature in to what it is today. We have grown from a group of a few close friends who aspired to be a very special type of Military Simulation, to a large group of friends who will stop at nothing to push their limits of the physical and mental challenges that Military Simulation brings to us. Last Updated (Sunday, 19 July 2009 15:20) The (not so) high cost of Military Simulation load outs.
